Susan Kraft
Senior Teacher & Teacher Trainer

Susan has been practicing yoga since the mid-1990s.  First certified to teach in 2007, she is now an OM Yoga certified teacher at the 500 hour level.  Her training is grounded in the use of precise alignment (influenced by the teachings of B.K.S. Iyengar) within a mindful and breath-centered flow.  She has also studied Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR-the therapeutic application of meditation popularized by Jon Kabat Zinn) and is certified to teach meditation, restorative yoga and pranayama.

Susan’s teaching is informed by a life-long interest in both creative and therapeutic movement practices, including Alexander technique, Thai massage, modern dance and Pilates, as well as two years of Embodied Anatomy with the irreverent and amazing, Amy Matthews.  Susan is also a student of Buddhism and encourages her students to move deeply into the experience of their own lives, including living in their bodies with awareness, compassion and joy.

Some of the many wonderful teachers with whom Susan has studied directly, and to whom she is immensely grateful, include Frank Boccio, Jennifer Brilliant, Elena Brower, Christie Clark, Ramit Kreitner, Cyndi Lee, Frank Mauro, Carla Stangenberg, Jack Kornfield and Sharon Salzberg.

Susan’s writing on yoga has appeared in Yoga International, Dance teacher Magazine and Elephant Journal. She has taught on retreats and in teacher training programs internationally. To find out more about Susan’s teaching and writing, check out her website
